By Joginder Tuteja, March 14, 2005 - 17:02 IST

Divas of two generations come together in Vijay Galani and Rahul Sugandh produced ' Bachke Rehna Re Baba ', a comedy starring Rekha and Mallika Sherawat. Regardless of the failure of ' Kis Kiski Kismat ', director Govind Menon and Mallika would be looking forward to be third time lucky with BRRB that also stars Paresh Rawal and Satish Shah in principal roles. When compared to ' Khwahish ' and ' Kis Kiski Kismat ', BRRB has a much better look and gloss to it and that can be attributed to enterprising production houses Sahara One Motion Pictures and Boney Kapoor BSK Entertainment Ltd. who back this product, which has been completed in a record time. A fun movie, BRRB has music by Anu Malik. With a theme like this, it is expected to have a peppy and frothy musical score. Initial promos do promise the same. Let's see how the entire album turns out to be.

Dev kohli writes the title song ' Bachke Rehna Re Baba ' that is a about 'This is the age of girls and we are the best - so BEWARE!'. Sung with aplomb by Sunidhi Chauhan and Sowmya Raoh, the number boasts of foot tapping tune, hummable lyrics, good choreography, glossy cinematography and the best of all - presence of Rekha and Mallika in a single frame. In nutshell, a song that is instantly catchy and has a very good retention power. A winner ! And that's the reason why a ' REMIX ' and an ' Instrumental ' too come up at frequent intervals.

Guitar strings at the beginning of 'Dil Churane Wale ' bring an instant nostalgia of Anu Malik's mid-90s tunes. And as this song written by Dev Kohli progresses further, you know that Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik have been roped up for this very special reason - to come up with a melodious mushy'n'romantic track. A trademark Anu Malik specialty, one just expects that this lovely duet doesn't get lost in between Mallika's skin show that forms the USP of the movie.

Neck swinging is back in action with ' Sharafat Chod De ', a fast paced westernized track sung by Alisha Chinoi, whose Remix version makes an appearance before the regular track. With a glossy look, rich cinematography and imaginative choreography, the number written by Farhad, should be another eye candy for Mallika's fans after the title track.

Surprise surprise, as the singing bug seems to have bit even Rekha after being in the industry for so long. Singing on Anu Malik written lyrics, Rekha does a convincing act with ' Eiffel Tower ', a situational track about her power to be able to make people dance to her beats. The voice seems very unlike Rekha and one of the two things is for sure - either she has done a damn good job with her singing skills or it is the modern day musical arrangements that have made her sound so different. Sunidhi Chauhan also sings a solo of the same track and is obviously even better with her rendition.

The team of ' Bheege Hoth Tere ' - Anu Malik, Kunal Ganjawala and Sayed Qadri - come together for ' Tera Husn '. Another one in the line of a sensual romantic number to be sung to your beloved on a full moon night, it makes an instant impact and can be lapped up easily. It keeps coming dangerously close to the cry of ' O O Oyoo ' of ' Bheege Hoth ', but then succeeds in creating a good space for itself without appearing as a Part II of the superhit song that is getting all the major awards for Kunal this year. A sort of records for a single album, even ' Tera Husn ' appears twice, this time an ' Instrumental '.

BRRB is a youthful album that has 5 unique songs totaling up to 10 in an album due to an added version, instrumental or a remix. A good album that can be enjoyed for some time at the least, it should be picked up by the youngsters and manage to have above average business sales.
