After Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Hum Ho Gaye Aapke in
recent months, Tum Se Achcha Kaun Hai (TSAKH) is
another offing from Venus Records and Tapes Ltd. TSAKH
stars Nakul Kapoor (who featured in Ho Gayi Hai
Mohabbat - a music album), d?tante Aarti Chabria and
Kim Sharma (who was 1/9th the star cast of
Mohabbatein). Love story TSAKH is directed by Deepak
Anand who earlier directed the actioners Balwaan -
launch pad of Sunil Shetty in Bollywood and Humse
Badhkar Kaun starring Sunil Shetty and Saif Ali Khan.
But the highlight of the movie is the music, which is
composed by Nadeem Shravan who are churning out
blockbusters after blockbusters since past one and a
half years. The magical innings that started with
Dhadkan and continued with Ek Rishta, Kasoor and Hum
Ho Gaye Aapke is still going strong with Ye Dil
Aashiqana, Ansh, Raaz, Haan...Maine Bhi Pyaar Kia and
now TSAKH. The success they are enjoying today can be
judged by the fact that their first super-duper hit
album 'Aashique' has been re-released all over again.
TSAKH begins on an excellent note with the title song
by new find Tauseef Akhtar. He has very soft and
blissful vocals, which are in reality - ORIGINAL. His
style is neither copied nor imitated from any other
singer of the current generation. Though he sounds a
bit raw, bit it is this rawness that makes the number
- SPECIAL. Music for the number has the conventional
Nadeem Shravan arrangements and Sameer's poetry and so
is naturally good.
'Dil Gaya Mera Dil Gaya' is an average track by Sonu
Nigam. Not much effort has gone in either the music or
the lyrics. This pacy number seems to be a stage
performance and at best is just - OK !! In fact
another Sonu Nigam number - 'Ye Un Dino Ki Baat Hai'
is a much better effort in terms of singing, lyrics
and music. Sarika Kapoor who is being promoted by
Nadeem Shravan in their latest compositions gives
company to Sonu Nigam. The song is all about the lead
players getting nostalgic about the lovely moments
they shared some time back. Sarika's voice is
something that one would like to hear more often. A
very good number.
But the track that one gets hooked to is 'Ankh Hai
Bhari Bhari' which has wonderful lyrics by Sameer. The
pain and anguish of the lead player is depicted so
very well in the words that go like -
Aankh Hai Bhari Bhari Aur Tum Muskurane Ki Baat Karte
Ho - Zindagi Khafa Khafa Aur Tum Dil Lagaane Ki Baat
Karte Ho !!
The number is featured twice as solos by Kumar Sanu
and Alka Yagnik and both the versions are rendered
with sincerity. Full marks to Sameer for this number.
Sukhwinder Singh is in his usual full-throated popish
self in 'Aap Jaisa' which is again a stage
performance. The number is simply RD Burman revisited.
Even the background chorus vocals remind of Burmanda's
inimitable style. The song is about the performer's
thanksgiving to his fans and audience who have
contributed to his success and elevated to these
heights,. Another good number that will be popular.
'Door Wadiyon Se' by Sonu Nigam is a feel good love
song where the hero is appreciating his girl for all
that he feels about. TIME PASS STUFF.
'Jo Jaam Se Peeta Hoon' by Sonu Nigam and Tauseef
Akhtar is a qawalli about 'sharaab' and 'shabaab'. The
lyrics are notable that goes like -
Jo Jaam Se Peeta Hoon To Utar Jaati Hai - Jo Aankh
Se Peeta Hoon To Chad Jaati Hai'
Nadeem Shravan and Sameer make a very good attempt to
invade the 'sharaab-shabaab' territory that has been
owned by Pankaj Udhaas so far.
Something noticeable about TSAKH is that in-spite of
it being a love story, it has just two numbers 'Ye Un
Dino Ki Baat Hai' and 'Ankh Hai Bhari Bhari' which has
female singers. Otherwise the remaining six tracks are
male dominated - INTERESTING. But overall TSAKH is a
good album that should find a place in one's album
racks for at least three tracks - the title song, 'Ye
Un Dino Ki Baat Hai' and 'Ankh Hai Bhari Bhari'.
