The Hit team of Priyadarsan, Sunil Shetty, Akshay
Kumar and Paresh Rawal combined earlier to give a
hilarious comedy "Hera Pheri". The same team minus
Akshay return with "Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar
(YTGYMG) " which is supposed to be yet another laugh
riot. Mahima Chaudhary plays the female lead.
First things first...Does this album have the
necessary ingredients to become super-hit ?
And the answer is NO !!!
To be fair to Anand Milind, there are two numbers in
the album which are good. Main being 'Saraswati Yeh
Tera Ghar' (by Sonu Nigam) which is pretty enjoyable
to say the least. The tune is pleasent and soothing to
the ears and lyrics (by Ibrahim Ashq) are funny. In
fact, the sarcasm conveyed in the lyrics and the
performances by the main leads Sunil Shetty and Mahima
Chaudhary in the song make it a treat to watch . The
promos are already flooding the channels and the song
is becoming popular fast. Another song that one
remembers after this otherwise "just-an-average" album
gets over is Adnan Sami's 'Kuch Pyar Bhi Kar'. This is
his second movie song release after 'Mehbooba
Mehbooba' (Ajnabee). Not that the song is a
chartbuster kind, but it's certainly much better than
what else is offered in the album. It's a love song
with good lyrics. Good picturisation of this song
should take it some distance.
One question Mr. Anand and Mr. Milind (and producers
of the movie).....you could have at least spared
getting "inspired" by pop tunes at least !!!! Now is
that fair to transform Ali Haider's immensely
successful 'Purani Jeans aur Guitar' into 'Hasate ho
Rulate Ho' (Abhijeet, Alka Yagnik). Though in the
later stages, the song gets out of Purani Jeans and
gets in it's own groove making a good listening
overall, but still all this leaves a bitter taste in
the mouth, once you get that "heard-before" feeling
!!!!
And now coming to the downers !!!!
Shaan and Kay Kay croon 'Mil Jaye Khazana' which is
easily one of the most forgettable number of the
album. It resmebles one of those poorly composed
jingles for some youth-movement ads and is easily
avoidable. 'Hasta Hua Yeh Chehra' is sung by some
'ShriKumar' who intentionally or unintentionally tries
to sing like 'Yesudas' but isn't much successful;
primarily because his vocals do not have as much depth
as of Yesudas' matured vocals. Moreover his singing
style is also South orieneted, so its doubtful whether
he would be accpeted whole-heartedly in 'Mumbai film
industry playback zone'.
Govinda (Babul Supriyo, Akla Yagnik) is a typical
'Govinda-ala-re-ala' kind of ched-chaad song that
caters to audience of 'aamchi mumbai' but may not
strike chord with the rest of the nation !!!!
Initially even Hera Pheri's music was considered dull,
but later it picked up as the movie became a hit and
primarily because of excellent overall impact (i.e.
zippy music, innovative choreography, glossy
cinematography etc) of two item songs - 'Tun Tunak
Tun' and 'Chan Chan Chanana Chan'. Since YTGYMG lacks
any such item numbers,so the possibilty is remote that
the album may become blockbuster.
Anand Milind attempt yet another comeback but afraid
to say, they may again have to wait for some other
day. Somewhere along the lines in all these years
since they scored for Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak among others, they seem to have lost their way.
