16 of 27 people found this review helpful The actors do okay, but are trapped by the script and Khan's surprisingly, disappointingly, heavy-handed handling of emotion. Akshay Kumar inevitably manages to salvage some laughs, channelling his Garam Masala and Jaan-E-Mann characters. Fardeen's not too bad, clearly at ease playing the brat in male-bonding comedies. Riteish Deshmukh is reliably credible, but it's the kind of role he needs to stear clear of now. Vidya Balan looks pretty, but all she does in the film is get lied to -- perhaps an indication of how she signed on after reading this script.

It's primarily the performances that save Heyy Babyy from being another run-of-the-mill comedy. If Akshay is his usual boisterous self, then both Fardeen and Riteish are competent as his funny buddies.

The film itself is Leonard Nimoy's Three Men And A Baby (1987). Only to the point that it's about three bachelors: in this particular case, unattached, unemotional philanderers perennially playing the dating field. They land up with an unclaimed infant at their door-step. The baby initially makes their life hell, and you know soon enough, she'll permanently alter their unemotional lives as well.

‘Heyy Babyy’ starts off very well but begins to lose steam mid-way. Thankfully, Akshay Kumar shows his incredible comic flair once again and invokes genuine laughs from the audience. The movie has many hilarious scenes but the ones featuring Akshay turn out to be the best.

The basic plot, borrowed from Three Men And A Baby, focuses on three happy-go-lucky bachelors (Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan and Riteish Deshmukh) who discover a baby girl outside their house one morning with a note saying it belongs to one of them. In their own way, they try finding out who among them is the father and eventually fall in love with the baby.

I can understand Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan and Ritesh Deshmukh are upset that the baby's been taken away by her real mother, but their obsession over the baby comes off as both contrived and melodramatic. It all looks very fake.

Riteish Deshmukh and Fardeen Khan too fail to find the funny bone.
