Surinder Kapoor honoured by the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy

Veteran producer Surinder Kapoor was conferred the L.V. Prasad Phalke Award by the Dadasaheb Phalke Academy at a glittering ceremony in Mumbai today. Surinder's family, comprising of his sons Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor and daughter-in-law Sridevi, were present on this grand occasion. Anil Kapoor, however, was conspicuous by his absence.
Not may are aware that Surinder first started his career as an Assistant Director to K. Asif on Mughal-E-Azam. He then went on to become a producer and produced many successful films. It was an emotional moment for the entire Kapoor family as Surinder was bestowed with this honour.
Other awardees includes Manoj Kumar, Ashutosh Gowarikar and composer Himesh Reshammiya's father Vipin Reshammiya.
