Tusshar Kapoor was the initial choice for the main antagonist's part in Mission Istanbul. But the dates clashed with Ekta's film D Company which takes a light look at gangsterism, hence he opted out.

When Tusshar Kapoor first makes his appearance, he is shown harassing some youth in a TV showroom which is choc-a-bloc with flat screen TVs which were non-existent in 1991, the year the film is set in.
