It presents the rugged life of a simple farming family in modern day Punjab. "In real life, too, they are like my sons. I’ve known them ever since they roamed around in half chaddis," said Jackie who plays farmer Dayal Singh. “The film’s about the turmoil of this farmer who loves his family and his motherland." As a producer, Sohail said he chose his brother because "I felt the role suited Arbaaz bhai.” And Jaggu Dada is his personal favourite. "The film is close to my heart. Apart from it being a family drama, it deals with the heart-wrenching issue where debt-ridden farmers are killing themselves for small sums of Rs 10,000," added Sohail.
